Briefs encountered

On an unspoken afternoon just this side of modern June
Came hence the sound of yesteryear in flight
Dates up smartly up for the fight

They met in the evening when the sun had just turned cool
The roses peeked out cheekily whispering like fools often do

The conversation drifted to reality so the context was quite boring
And as they soon argued ever louder the autumn leaves kept falling
By now the air was frostier than sin the mood all dark and noir
They both felt we’ve seen this film somewhere before

Then suddenly a surprise appeared dressed in shimmer end quality
Borrowed from a struggling artist no doubts
We needed some kind of sympathy
He offered a hand out which she turned and laughed it hurt
So he opened up a box of nothings she said will you ever learn
He simply responded learn what?

Why are you so confusing and she said sorry for the umpteenth time
For being the one you are hereby losing
For it had become oh so apparent our guessing games were now done
It had been the briefest of encounter but rather brief than have none
